Sandy & Dick Nicholson came to Wellfleet, Cape
Cod after living and working in: New York City; Northern NJ; Eastern France;
and Pittsburgh, PA. We have three grown children, four grandchildren and
two Yellow Labs (Maisey & Jasper). Dick has been coming to Wellfleet,
Cape Cod all his life on annual vacations with his family. We even honeymooned
on the Cape in March 1963!
Dick worked for 20 years with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) and in 1984
left to become CFO of an advanced software startup in Pittsburgh. He worked
for several other software companies; and most recently was CFO of Boston
pharmaceutical startup, ActivBiotics, Inc. Sandy, in addition to raising
children and moving hither and yon, owned a specialty apparel store in
Fox Chapel, PA for 17 years.
In 1995 we decided to take "early retirement" from Pittsburgh
and move to Wellfleet where Dick had inherited property
and build
our dream house. Noted Pittsburgh architect Jeffrey Kline designed Oyster
Cove and Wellfleet custom builder Bob Bacon built it. The home incorporates
polished concrete floors with radiant heating and other advanced construction
principles. We took part in the construction process ("lumping",painting,
landscaping and odd jobs) during the 12 months from start to finish in
1997. In 1997 we decided to open Oyster Cove Bed & Breakfast. We live
in Wellfleet year round and enjoy the interesting guests who come here
to share this special place in the world.
Come
and visit us.
Sandy,
Dick, Jasper & Maisey.
