Learn about Our B and B Rooms for Rent in Wellfleet, MA
We're Sandy and Dick Nicholson, owners of Oyster Cove. We came to Wellfleet, Cape Cod, after living and working in New York City, Northern New Jersey, eastern France, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We have three grown children, four grandchildren, and two beagles (Bunker & Kali). Dick had been coming to Wellfleet all his life on annual vacations with his family, and we later honeymooned on the Cape in 1963.
Dick, a CPA, worked for 20 years with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and then became CFO of several software startups. Most recently, he was CFO of a Boston pharmaceutical startup. Sandy, in addition to raising three children and moving hither and yon, owned a specialty apparel store in Fox Chapel, PA, for 17 years.
In 1995, we decided to take "early retirement" and move to Wellfleet where Dick had inherited property. We started building our dream home, designed by noted Pittsburgh architect Jeffrey Kline and constructed by Wellfleet Custom Builders.
The home incorporates polished concrete floors with radiant heating and other energy conservation principles. We took part in the construction process, which involved painting, landscaping, and cleanup, during the 12 months from start to finish in 1997. In 1998, we decided to open Oyster Cove Bed & Breakfast. We live in Wellfleet year round and enjoy the interesting guests who come here to share this special place in the world. If you’re wondering where to stay on vacation, we urge you to visit us soon.

Location
Wellfleet is a quiet, colonial fishing village in the heart of the Cape Cod National Seashore. This region features miles of sandy beaches, outdoor activities, art galleries, and fine dining without the crowds that are sometimes found elsewhere on Cape Cod.
Oyster Cove is a large, custom-built home on a private road fronting Wellfleet's inner harbor. Here at our Cape Cod accommodation, we serve an expanded continental breakfast, including homemade bread and muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, and more.
